The Harwinton Ambulance Association proudly serves the approximately 5,500 residents in the town of Harwinton, located in the Northwest corner of Connecticut. We also provide mutual aid services for the surrounding towns when needed.
Together, with the Harwinton & Harwinton Westside Fire Departments, and our Resident State Troopers, we provide for emergency response needs for those who live and pass through our community.
We provide EMS coverage 24 hours a day 365 days a year at an Intermediate level. An Intermediate level qualification means that our service is considered an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance. In the last few years we have seen a marked increase in our medical emergency responses. In the last six years our EMS runs have increased 68%. We are dispatched by Litchfield County Dispatch (LCD).
We are excited about an ongoing project to construct a much needed ambulance facility for our community. Both the purchase of the site and construction of the new facility will be achieved through grant funds the town has applied for and have been awarded. Monies already saved by the Ambulance Association will also be used to complete this project. For more information about the project, please click here. Please help us by learning about the project and publically showing your support for your ambulance service.
